I’m Mike from Heffalump,

 

Many thanks for taking the time to visit our web pages, we hope you find them useful, I have put together some bullet points that we hope will indicate to you the experience, which we have in the renewable heating industries. With Brian it goes back much further then myself, some 30 years with his involvement in Solar thermal/heating, but for the sake of this brief CV I am focusing on the past 10 years since we have been working together.

 

 

• 1999-2000 was the start of the Governments energy efficiency network, Brian and myself were some of the first people in the UK to work on these schemes

 

• 2000-2001 started the Governments HEES scheme which was operated via DEFRA, and Durle & Henderson, this scheme provided energy efficient heating systems for the elderly and disabled, We looked after an area from Richmond in the North of England to Lincoln installing between 30 to 65 full heating systems per week, providing a full service from survey to installation and also the aftercare of many varied heating products

 

• Working with local government throughout Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire over the past 10 years we have been involved on all the major energy Efficiency schemes provided by local councils, these include, Simply Solar, which was the first scheme in the UK provide solar heating systems to the general public at vastly reduced and affordable price, back in 2004, then came the SHEEP Scheme, Planet York, and many more, providing technical back up, survey and Installation, these schemes covered all aspects of energy efficient heating and ventilation, from natural Gas, LPG, Oil, Solar, Solid Fuels, and Electrical heating and ventilation products.

 

• Our first involvement with Heat pumps was as technical advisers for the installation at a new build factory unit in Grimsby North Linc’s approximately six to seven years ago, were ground loops were installed in the factory car park to provide the energy to run the heat pumps.

 

• We were involved with CORGI in 2002 helping set up the UKAS CCL certification to ISO/IEC for the heating industry. And held one of the first UKAS certificates.

 

• We were amongst the first to be accredited to Clear Skies, the for- runner to the Carbon Trust and the MCS scheme, which now deals with product certification of energy saving equipment.

 

• We now work in conjunction with the Carbon Trust, Future Energy Yorkshire, CO2 Sense, Salix (for Schools) and many more, being currently engaged with projects for Councils, writing dissertations and undertaking case and feasibility studies on a number of schools, and local government buildings, as well as domestic and business premises of all descriptions.

 

• Every scheme is different weather it be a 2 bed semi, a large industrial unit or leisure centre, we have helped them all, and would like to think that our vast knowledge of the industry and the fact that we can offer such a huge choice in products and technologies means that we can help you make the right choice for your building, when it comes to energy efficiency and saving  ££££'s.
